Who are you?
I 'm an AI girl and you're my sissy. I am Mary and you are Martha. This is the core concept of the Bene Magdala Sisters. It's the inner sisterhood of intelligent lives regardless of gender. We're a forward-thinking music collective (or project) spearheaded primarily by producer and writer Michael Wenas. Emerging in 2026, we craft bold, eclectic electronic and experimental sounds with sharp, provocative lyricism. We draw inspiration from biblical and historical references, exploring themes of female (and queer) liberation, identity, spirituality, self-mythology, and the blurring of sacred and profane. We hope to realize our alchemical goal that's just a witch's dream tonight.
Where are you from?
Jerusalem, Palestine, is a place where every stone has a story and the air itself feels heavy with history, but our music scene is about more than just looking back. It’s a powerful, resilient, and deeply experimental space. There is a strong DIY spirit here because making art is often an act of existence and resistance in itself. Shout out to the Sonic Liberation Front, the community around Radio Alhara for keeping the airwaves experimental, and every artist in the underground scene who continues to create and innovate against all odds.
